About Me...
My name is Reverend Tom Vandeberg. I am an ordained minister and a certified hypnotist. I am also “a bit psychic”, and have been a professional Tarot and Rune reader for many years. In fact, I have been a student and practitioner of metaphysics and the “occult arts” for well over 25 years, now.
Even after all this time, I still consider myself to be a “student,” as we should never stop learning. In fact, even when I teach, I find that I learn as much from my students as they do from me. Never have I met a truly wise individual who was willing to proclaim that he, or she, had learned all they needed to know.
I have gone down many paths to get to where I am now. I have studied and practiced a good many religions. I have found some truth in all of them, but I feel that the “whole truth” can only be found within. Furthermore, I believe that spiritual truth is largely subjective.
The greater part of my spiritual identity comes from the study and practice of magic. Most of what I work with is western magic, but even that has been influenced by a good deal of eastern thought.
Through my various spiritual wanderings, I eventually came to the conclusion that being a magician is a spiritual path, all unto itself. The path I walk has been greatly influenced by those same wanderings, but in the end, the roots of my belief system can be found in the thought, theory, and philosophy of western esotericism – Magic.
Other than that, I am the father of three wonderful, almost grown, kids (and surrogate dad to many more…), who are either in college or college bound. I spent 11 years in the military as both a MP and an infantryman, and have been a “computer guy” for just over 22 years (I remember when a 40 Megabyte hard drive was “all you’ll ever need”).
I live in the North West corner of Virginia with the kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a random assortment of fish. I like being surrounded by animals, as they tend to keep one grounded. Plus, when it comes to unconditional love, there is no better teacher than a dog!
